British actor Jim Sturgess was born on May 16, 1981 in a small village in London, England. He is most famous for his role as Jude in Across The Universe.

Jim is a former member of the National Youth Music Theatre (1993 to 1995) and studied at the University of Salford’s School of Media, Musica and Performance and obtained an HND. At the same time, he was also a member in a seven member band called the Dilated Spies.

Although primarily active in television, he has also appeared in film and radio and is perhaps even famous for his role as the younger Charlie in The Quest, a TV movie series.

Jim’s breakthrough role as portrayed Jude Feeny, a young shipyard man who travels to the U.S. during the late 60’s and falls in lover with a sheltered American teenager, Lucy, in Across The Universe.

In early 2008, Jim appeared in The Other Boleyn Girl in the supporting role of George Boleyn alongside Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and Eric Bana. He also stars in 21 as MIT student Ben Campbell and takes Las Vegas casinos for millions, also starring Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey. In late 2008, he will be appearing in Man On The Run/50 Dead Men Walking as Martin McGartland.
